In the shadowed heights of the Dreadspire Range, overlooking the bustling streets of Mennesker City, lies Duskwatch Keep, a foreboding castle that whispers tales of power, betrayal, and bloodlust.
Shadowy figures flit across the moonlit landscape- under our noses, over our heads, and just beyond our grasp. Don’t be afraid- it’s no use anyhow. If they want to snatch you up, whether you tiptoe across town vigilently, or you stroll along without a care, they will regardless.
The Vampires have been around for thousands of years, but only in the past several hundred years have they become so prevalent in our cities and towns, that they are becoming more than an old wives’ tale. A nuisance to some common-folk, but, an underground economic and cultural boon to others.
Mennesker City, renowned for its thriving markets and lively streets, harbors a darker side. As the sun sets, the vibrant energy of the town fades into an uneasy stillness. Shadowy figures move through the alleys, and the soft rustle of wings echoes across the rooftops. By dawn, townsfolk whisper of new disappearances and eerie mists creeping from the Weeping Marshes.
The source of this terror lies in the Crimson Court, a coven of vampires led by the formidable Mithrulis Varsik, a being whose cunning and thirst for dominance has held the court together for centuries. But his rule is threatened by his ambitious heir, Mithras Horvath, who schemes to overthrow his father using forbidden rituals that feed on the life force of Mennesker’s citizens.
The townsfolk are not without hope. Beneath the glitz of the Goldhaven District and the eerie quiet of Oldcross, a resistance stirs. Led by the seasoned vampire hunter Hideyky Cushing, the resistance seeks to protect the townsfolk and unravel Mithras’s dark plans. Cushing’s network includes spies embedded in Mennesker’s noble circles and merchants like Joryn Galefoot, whose tavern provides safe haven for those who oppose the vampires.
Meanwhile, the Cult of Lusunzi, worshippers of the river deity, has begun blessing townsfolk with wards of protection. These blessings, however, come at a cost, and the cult’s true intentions remain a mystery.
Figures of the Crimson Court:
• Mithrulis Varsik: The elder vampire lord whose iron-fisted rule keeps the court in line. He is as cruel as he is calculating, wielding centuries of experience to maintain his dominance.
• Mithras Horvath: Mithrulis’s rebellious heir, whose schemes of betrayal drive much of the chaos in Mennesker. His experiments with blood magic have created cursed abominations that terrorize the city.
• Baron Dorrak: A terrifying enforcer who ensures the Crimson Court’s influence reaches every shadowed corner of the city. His towering form strikes fear in even the bravest adventurers.
• Lilith Nox: A Nosferatu who embodies the horrors of undeath. Twisted and grotesque, she commands the corrupted creatures created by Mithras’s experiments.
• Seraphina Nocturne: A vampiric tactician with wings like a bat, whose elegance conceals her deadly nature. She serves as a bridge between the court’s nobility and its underworld allies.

A merchant’s son is taken in the night. The party uncovers a ritual chamber in the Weeping Marshes tied to Mithras Horvath’s dark experiments, leading to a confrontation with his minions.
