NUKeD is a fast-playing tabletop roleplaying game about a world that wasn’t just laid low by the apocalypse, it was warped. Twisted. The laws that once governed the natural order became flexible. Negotiable even. A century and half in, the wastelands are full of all manner of strangeness. Bizarre mutants and new species that seem to have crawled out of a fantasy story. Even magic. For real, no shit magic. To say it is a strange new world barely scrapes the surface. Find a crew to watch your back and arm yourself. There will be blood.
The End of the World was Just the Beginning
The world ended over a century ago. The information age crashed, mass communication was no longer possible and in a single generation, illiteracy became commonplace so no one knows what really happened or even when.
What is certain is bombs dropped. A lot of bombs. So many they tore big holes in the natural order, shredding what we once considered the immutable laws of physics. Reality itself became maleable. Magic was possible, made impossible things possible and things got weird fast.

Most folks were degenerate humans with mutations of one sort or another. The pejorative term “mutant” tends to be reserved for those with severe deformity or superhuman abilities. The few without any mutations are known as “Pregen” (for Previous Generation.)
New species appeared. Most common are Beasties and Goblins. Beasties are either humans mutated to be more bestial or beasts mutated to be more human. Goblins had adapted to the new world. Compact, able to digest most anything and resistant to both radiation and biohazards. They also had pointed ears and green skin.
“Reality ain’t what it used to be…”
