A Victorian world with classic monsters
A choking mist now clings to the cracked flagstones and the dark, cobbled streets of this once-proud city. The din of the aristocrat crowd and the sonorous peal of great silver bells has long faded to a deathly silence, only to be broken now and again by whispered oaths of vengeance of the wretches that shamble along this city’s shadowed walls. At the center of this dead, stone labyrinth stands the Silent Tower; Stormcrow City’s most prominent building. This great clocktower still casts its formidable shadow over the city even though its bell hangs silent and the clockwork inside has stopped many years ago.
As the adventurers drew closer to the mansion, an unsettling cold mist started to wrap itself around them and seep through their clothing, filling them with unease. Having travelled for days without respite, the warm lights flickering through the mansion’s narrow windows would normally have been a very welcome sight indeed. But something felt off about this place… Dozens of crows circled the mansion’s tower spires, cawing and fluttering wildly as the adventurers cautiously approached the heavy front doors…
